The inaugural Experiential Travel Summit convened some of WA's best south-west brands to explore how we might collaborate together to create new best-in-class travel experiences for incoming tourists.
Featuring Howard Park Wines, Vasse Felix Wines, Bettenays Margaret River, One Table Farm and even reps from Dark Mofo and the world-famous Noma restaurant - the energy and enthusiasm for continuing to build the South West into one of the worlds leading tourism destination was infectious.
Skills of the Modern Age was enagged to support the event via AusIndustry's Entrepreneurs Program.
Over the day we delivered three workshops for participants:
Experience Reflection Workshop
A facilitation feedback and lesson learnt session with the delegates following their visit a new local experience.
As part of the summit, 6 groups of participants attended 6 different local experiences. On return, all participants reconvened in a central location and we facilitated a session through the which the groups reflect on their experience with the intention of:
Leading a customer-focussed team
An interactive, hands-on workshop where participants worked through a series of principles and techniques on howthey might embed customer-centric and experience thinking in their team members processes, systems and ways of working. This workshop introduced new concepts like empathy mapping, design thinking and rapid prototyping.
Open Innovation Session
A 1-hour collaboration workshop to uncover new innovative experience opportunities. This followed a panel session that will discussed opportunities for improving travel experiences.
